Lady Shakes is so grateful to everyone who has lent their support to this production! Community support through our sponsors is vital to our continued success. Thank you to everyone who contributes in support of our mission of women-driven, reimagined Shakespeare. Acceptance of sponsorship does not indicate endorsement.

Amanda is thrilled to be joining the fun in her first official production with Lady Shakes! She has performed in the last two After Dark events, and recently seen in The Prom at Topeka Civic Theatre.
Amanda is passionate about supporting the arts and mental health in and around the Topeka community. She currently serves as vice chair of the Topeka Festival Singers board and on the Astra Mental Health Foundation board.
She would like to thank Alex for the opportunity to come play (and dance!) and this amazingly talented group of women for their love and support.

This is Martha's fourth Lady Shakes' production, previously appearing as Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, Doctor Pinch in The Good, the Bard, and the Ugly, and the Widow in The Taming of the Shrew. She has had more extensive experience playing villains off the stage by running tabletop role-playing games; she is excited to bring that love-to-hate-them energy to the stage for the first time.

Robin once dreamed of Broadway and touring Shakespeare. Instead, she found her husband, their son, and roots in Topeka. A community volunteer since 2007, she's performed and produced with Topeka Civic Theatre, served on the Jayhawk Theatre board, and now brings her love of the Bard full circle with Lady Shakes. This cast is delightful. She dedicates this show to all of them.

Amanda has been playing men in Shakespeare ever since her high school debut as Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet. Amanda most recently could be seen in Anastasia and could not be seen stage managing Shrek, both at TCT. Outside of the theatre, she spends her free time playing tabletop RPGs, crafting (all of them), and roadtripping with her handsome husband Dakota.

Brynna is a second-year performer of Lady Shakes Theatre Company. Brynna is a second-year performer of Lady Shakes Theatre Company. Previously seen as Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew (2025), Brynna feels passionately about portraying another complex but completely different character of Shakespeare’s imagination. She has been grateful to study poetry with our Ladies and share stories with our warm audiences each year. She hopes you enjoy our swingin’ rendition of Measure for Measure.

Kate is a lawyer with a passion for community, creative pursuits, and Shakespeare, making Lady Shakes a perfect fit! When she’s not treading the boards or serving on boards, she’s playing video games, reading, planning Girls Night dinners, and plotting riddles for her D&D party.

You may have seen Mary as Beulah in Come From Away at TCT. For fun she likes singing, sewing, knitting and she recently completed a goal, with family help, of building a catio for her cats. She thinks this show is the cat’s pajamas and is sure you will have a whoopee time. She is also the costume designer for this production.

Hugo is humbled to make his Lady Shakes debut as the first male to appear in one of their full-length productions. Though Shakespeare might be a new experience for him, he's thrilled to dip a heel in the waters and stay true to the gender-bent origins of Lady Shakes and theatre in general.

Penni is happy to be back with Lady Shakes! Her previous productions with this group include Comedy of Errors, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummers Night Dream and Twelfth Night. Other recent shows are 12 Angry Jurors with Sunrise Theatre and Over the River and Through the Woods for Topeka Civic Theatre.

Familiar with taking on many parts, Briana’s past ventures with Lady Shakes include roles at the After Dark, as Tranio in The Taming of the Shrew, and as the Second Merchant in A Comedy of Errors. Other recent shows include Anastasia and Spring Awakening at TCT and the 24-hour Plays by Arts, Inc.

Donna is excited to perform in her third Lady Shakes production and would like to thank Director Alex for giving her this chance. She previously appeared in both The Good, The Bard, and The Ugly and in The Taming of the Shrew. Donna was last seen in The Roommate for Sunrise Theatre and Revival at Possum Kingdom for ACT Theatre. Shout out and thanks to hubby Randy for his constant support.

Katherine is a Registered Drama Therapist with the NADTA and an alumni of WSU and KSU. She has worked as a drama therapist in corrections for 14 years, sharing her love of Shakespeare and improvisational theatre. Special thanks to her parents, Larry and Alesa, her husband Gary and her talented child, the smaller Katherine.

This is Jayden's first performance with Lady Shakes Theatre. She has previously been on stage at Topeka West High School in various productions, including Shakespeare's A Comedy of Errors and a leading role in Ken Ludwig's Lend Me A Soprano.

Marsue joined Lady Shakes in 2023 when she was cast in Romeo and Juliet as Lady Montague. Since then she has volunteered for several events as well as being cast in The Taming of the Shrew in 2025. In her free time you can find her at Topeka Civic Theatre where she has crewed several shows as well as working the front of the house as House Manager or Host. She is looking forward to once again working with everyone including those new to Lady Shakes.

Heather is thrilled to be back on stage for her second production with Lady Shakes following a long hiatus from theatre. A passionate educator by day, Heather splits her time between teaching, making music and spending time with family and friends. She is deeply grateful to the cast and crew for such a warm welcome back and hopes you enjoy tonight’s show!

A veteran of the stage, you may have recently seen Jandy as Juror #7 in 12 Angry Jurors for Sunrise Theatre Co. Prior was Groundhog Day: The Musical and Jersey Boys on the main stage Topeka Civic Theatre. She thanks Alex and all these fine ladies for her first Lady Shakes opportunity.

Alexandra is honored to direct Lady Shakes’ fifth full length production after having directed Romeo and Juliet in 2023 (our second full length). She is a founding member of Lady Shakes and serves on the board. She thanks you for venturing into The Clamshell and hopes you’ll be back for more Lady Shakes next season.

Melissa is thrilled to be joining the Lady Shakes family as stage manager for this production! She has been volunteering with local theatres since 2006. From stage managing and crewing to acting, she has tried it all. She was last on stage in Come From Away at Topeka Civic Theatre, and stage managed La Ruta for Shades of Theatre. Melissa thanks you for coming and continuing to support the arts!
