Martha Boatright appeared as Lady Capulet in Lady Shakes' Romeo and Juliet last summer. Since then she has performed in It's a Wonderful Life and School of Rock with Topeka Civic Theater. She would like to thank Steve Shell of Old Gods of Appalachia for inspiring her performance tonight.
Melissa Boyer is proud to be a part of her third Lady Shakes production and her first time working with husband, Jeff as a director. She has been in several productions at TCT, Helen Hocker Theatre, and Sunrise Theatre Company. She is a school counselor at Berryton Elementary and helps lead the BES Drama Club.
Ace is thrilled to be joining the LSTC team once again - back on stage after a brief hiatus, last seen as Benvolio in Lady Shakes' last production, Romeo & Juliet. When not running around in cowboy boots, Ace works K-6 music at Jay Shideler Elementary, bartends at Salut Wine & Cocktail Lounge, and is going into her sixth year as a student at Washburn University.
Amanda is a Topeka native, K-State Wildcat and recovering Disney World pirate who is delighted to be making her Lady Shakes debut! She most recently appeared as Lily in Alabama Story and did not appear as stage manager for Scrooge in Rouge at Helen Hocker Theatre.
A founding member of Lady Shakes, Angela has been a part of theatre in Topeka for over 30 years. Together with her husband, she owns and operates Magic Meals Home Delivery and is the proud mother of two young adults
Kate Duncan Butler is an attorney in her real life, so performing on a stage instead of in a courtroom is a nice change of pace! When she’s not volunteering on boards or snuggling cats, she’s hoarding books and refining her comedic timing with her friends (especially during D&D).
All are welcome now to this humble play,
That which Lady Shakes doth present this day.
The Old West is set for a Comedy of Errors.
It’s hard to write in iambic pentameter!!
Mary thought she could write just like Shakespeare -
Instead she says, “Heck, ya’ll come back now, ya hear!”
Penni counts herself lucky to be in her fourth LadyShakes production. Playing the part of Egeon is, umm, let’s just say “everything but the kitchen sink” applies here. She also was seen as Miss Marple in Lawrence and Clarence in TCT’s It’s a Wonderful Life this past season.
This is Callee's second Lady Shakes show. She was previously seen as Gregory in Romeo and Juliet. Callee is currently a senior at the University of Kansas, majoring in Social Work and Psychology and a minor in Theatre. She was last seen on the Topeka Civic Theatre stage in Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed, but she was also involved in Milking

Callee is currently a senior at the University of Kansas, majoring in Social Work and Psychology and a minor in Theatre. She was last seen on the Topeka Civic Theatre stage in Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed, but she was also involved in Milking Christmas and Sweeney Todd at the University of Kansas this past year.
Briana is so excited to be joining her first Lady Shakes performance. Last seen locally on stage in 2019 in Grease and North Augustine Estates, she has performed in a variety of roles at WRHS in Topeka, SHS in Slidell, Louisiana, and as a member of the Briarwood Players at the Kentucky Highland Renaissance Festival
Donna is thrilled to be performing in her First Lady Shakes production! She was last seen on stage in “Alabama Story” at Helen Hocker Theatre. Donna dedicates her performance to the two Shakespeare fanatics in her family - husband Randy and daughter Caitlyn!
Alex is thrilled to be donning a mustache for another Lady Shakes production with this wonderful company of players. She has also appeared in numerous shows at Topeka Civic Theatre. She dedicates this show to her Sparky, who loves Shakespeare so much.
Nadi Vinnere (photo unavailable) is usually someone who avoids the spotlight. She has been a ghost writer for as long as she can remember. Her personal philosophy is “I wish that I could bake a cake made out of rainbows and smiles, and we'd all eat it and be happy.”
Tanya is a TCT Hall of Fame member and has been working backstage in theatre for a long time. This is her first time as a stage manager in quite a while, and she’s grateful to Lady Shakes for welcoming her. She hopes everyone enjoys this conveyance to the old west as much as she does.
Jeff Boyer has been the drama director for Shawnee Heights High School since 2006. He has been performing and directing all around Topeka since his high school days, which were even earlier than 2006. His next project is Emma: A Pop Musical, here at SHHS in November.
