Unladylike Conduct - After Dark 2026
After Dark 2026: Unladylike Conduct is an adults-only cabaret for people who know that behaving is optional and joy is not. Now in its third year, this signature fundraiser from Lady Shakes Theatre Company turns the lights down, the volume up, and the expectations of “proper” behavior all the way off.
This is theater for the bold, the curious, and the gloriously unbothered. Shakespeare is nearby—but only as an accomplice. The night unfolds in a series of playful, provocative, and occasionally unhinged performances where anything can happen… and often does.
You might witness the return of the Betrayed Women of Shakespeare, catch the Minstrel Sisters dropping Renaissance hip hop, or sit in on Antony and Cleopatra’s therapy session. Confessions may be made. Sonnets may be ruined. Beatrice may have a few things to say about Benedick—and she will say them loudly. There are even rumors that Shakespeare himself may appear… though he has opinions about what’s being done to his work.
Between the music, the mischief, and the moments you definitely won’t see coming, you’ll find yourself pulled into the action—because the best nights don’t happen on stage alone. Audience participation, interactive games (some questionable, all entertaining), and just enough chaos to keep things interesting are all part of the experience.
